Not all children can live at home with their parents. They need to come to a family where they can receive security, care and love.
– The fact that the children are waiting means in most cases that they have been placed urgently in an emergency home, waiting for us to find a family home that matches the specific child, says family home secretary Sandra Pehart. Waiting means uncertainty about what the future will look like, which is very difficult for most people. Not having your own room or your own bed to sleep in, because you know you shouldn’t stay where you are.
We want the children to receive the best possible care and quickly get to a home that suits them. Therefore, it is extremely important that we get more people who can volunteer as family homes.
