– It will be messy here at first until we get all the routines in place that apply in the event of a blockade, says Jonas Löf, operations manager of the ambulance service.

Should not affect patients

There are rules in the collective agreement between employers and trade unions regarding the emergency operations for the overtime blockade, where the emergency operations shall not be affected.

– It should not be able to affect the business or the patients who need emergency care, says Jonas Löf.

Requirements for shorter weekly working hours

The overtime blockade affects around 63,000 of the Health Association’s members throughout Sweden. This after the Vårdförbundet and the employers in SKR and Sobona did not reach an agreement.

The blockade affects nurses, midwives, radiology nurses and biomedical analysts.

Today, many people in the occupational groups work 38-hour weeks, but the Healthcare Association believes that there is often overtime. The union’s main demand has been that the weekly working time should be shortened.
