Investigating targets – after the arrest at Attunda district court | Sweden

It was on Wednesday that the two teenagers, 16 and 17 years old, were checked at the district court. At least one of them was armed with an automatic weapon, according to Expressen’s information.

The police’s suspicion is that they planned to shoot someone in or near the court, according to the information.

– The police checked these two men outside the district court. That’s when they were arrested and detained on probable cause, suspected of serious weapons offences, says prosecutor Johanna Strid.

On Friday, both suspects were arrested.

Several trials took place in Attunda District Court on Wednesday. Among them a trial after an explosion in Hässelby last year, a case linked to the Foxtrot network. One theory is that it was the trial that the teenage boys were interested in, Expressen learns.

– It is too early to say why these people were at the scene with a weapon, but it is of course something we are investigating, says Johanna Strid.

Both teenagers are registered in Växjö.

Had contact with criminal network

Recently, the 16-year-old was sentenced to youth care for shooting a gun into a home. The judgment shows that the social service had a concern that he was part of criminal networks.

The 17-year-old was also recently convicted of being taken into care according to the LVU, the law on the care of young people. He was then sentenced to juvenile supervision after having drugs and a loaded gun on him. Before that, according to one of the police officers who intervened, he had been in contact with a person who belongs to the middle layer of a criminal network.
