Jürgen Klopp will leave Liverpool at the end of the season and it is still unclear who will take over. First, Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso was linked with the assignment, but he has opted to stay at his current club. Sporting’s Ruben Amorim has been pointed out as another option, although in that case The Athletic have stated that it is an unlikely solution.

Now the reputable The Guardian states that Liverpool may find their next coach in the Eredivisie. The newspaper states that the Merseyside club is interested in bringing in Feyenoord’s Arne Slot, 45. The Times has similar information.

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool has been in direct contact with Slot about the assignment and a new meeting should be scheduled. The Feyenoord coach is also said to be high on Liverpool’s wish list.

According to The Guardian, Liverpool are still keeping an eye on Amorim as well as Brighton’s Robert De Zerbi in their coaching hunt.

Slot has been successful at Feyenoord and last season he led the team to their first league title since 2017. This weekend he also swept home the Dutch Cup with the Rotterdam gang.

Last summer, the 45-year-old was close to becoming the new manager of Tottenham, but in the end he chose to sign a new contract with Feyenoord and it runs until 2026.
