With four rounds remaining, seven points separate league leaders Sporting and coach Roger Schmidt is under pressure.
When Benfica yesterday, Monday, defeated Farense 3-1, the big club’s supporters vented their displeasure with Schmidt and the team. The 57-year-old didn’t like that.

He continues:
– I have to say that I am not happy with the fans. It’s too much for my taste. I understand that not everyone accepts that sometimes we lose or that we score too few goals, but I always see my players giving everything for the team. The players do not deserve to be attacked or insulted by supporters.
This is not the first time that Schmidt has declared his anger towards Benfica’s supporters. In December, he lashed out at them after being treated stepmotherly himself.
