A possible question mark has appeared in AIK’s squad ahead of the summit meeting with Malmö FF on Sunday. Forward Omar Faraj was rested against IFK Värnamo on Wednesday and after the match he limped when walking around the pitch.

However, Faraj sat on the bench during the entire match against Värnamo.

– The plan was for him to come in. But he felt a little in his groin during his warm-up. So we didn’t want to take any chances, says AIK coach Henning Berg.

However, Berg does not think that Faraj will miss the match against Malmö on Sunday.

– I do not think so. Now we didn’t want to gamble. I expect that things will go well and that he will be available.

The 22-year-old was not available to the media after the 2-0 victory against Värnamo, AIK announced. Players who are not substituted do not usually go through the mixed zone at Friends Arena.
