Faraj injured – without having played a minute | Allsvenskan

Omar Faraj started AIK’s meeting with IFK Värnamo on the bench. Coach Henning Berg rotated the starting eleven and gave, among others, Taha Ayari and Victor Andersson the chance from the start.

However, the idea was that Faraj would jump into the match. But that did not happen.

– He warmed up and the pitch was going in, but he felt a little in his groin. We didn’t want to take any chances, says Henning Berg.

Omar Faraj himself limped precariously during AIK’s celebration on the inner pitch. The team won the match 2–0.

The striker was also limping as he left the Friends arena. Faraj does not want to give any comments, but was heard to say to a person in AIK: “It was during the warm-up”.

On Sunday, AIK travels south for a big match against Malmö FF. Henning Berg when asked if he is worried about Faraj’s participation there.

– We didn’t want to gamble when he felt. We expect it to go well, that he will be available on Sunday.

Regarding John Guidetti, another AIK striker who was left on the bench against IFK Värnamo, Henning Berg announces that he must train more with the team before he is ready to play.
