Around the same time, the club announced that offensive lineman Penei Sewell also received a four-year extension. He gets a contract worth 112 billion dollars, about 1.2 billion kroner. He also becomes the highest paid player at his position in the league.

The Detroit Lions have been weak for years, but were just one game from the Super Bowl this past season and are on the rise. The upcoming season will be the first in a very long time where the Lions will be seen as a Super Bowl contender.
