Yesterday was a full round of the women’s quarterfinals in the playoffs, and once again it was the home teams who won their matches. Stack out made Rebecca Nilsson with 53 in save percentage for Skuru against Skövde.

Wednesday offered four quarter-finals.

In Partille, Sävehof took on Hallby. Both teams had previously won a match each, both at home, and now it was once again Sävehof’s turn to win.

The teams kept each other level at 4–4 before Sävehof pulled away.

– We stuck to what we had decided today and if you look at the individual performances, it is a very much higher level today. We killed the rhythm and timing in their attacking game, which meant that we had to run at them, says Jesper Östlund, Sävehof’s coach, on the club’s website after the match.

The Partille gang then scored six straight goals and never let go of the game after that.

– The fact that we stopped their seven-six is a big reason why it went better today, says Östlund.

Rebecca Nilsson match hero – 53 in save percentage

In Stockholm, the home team Skuru took command early in the match against Skövde. The away team came to life just before half-time and took a good result into the break, 13-12.

In the second half, Skuru’s defensive game got off to a good start. Much thanks to Rebecca Nilsson in goal who finished the match with 53 (!) in save percentage.

– Now we played a much better match than last time. Above all, our defensive play after the break was very good, says Skuru’s coach Magnus Oscarsson Söder on the club’s website.

Skuru conceded just six goals in the last 30 minutes and thus has match point for the fourth quarter-final to be played on Friday.

The most even match in advance was played in Höör, where the home team took on Skara for quarterfinal three. The teams, like all the other teams before the third round, had a win each and H65 Höör completed the third straight round of home triumphs.

The reds gained an early lead and then kept Skara at a comfortable distance for the rest of the match.

Skara was never really close and when the home team scored three straight goals at the beginning of the second half, it became difficult for Skara. The result was 29–24.
