Liverpool went on Wednesday to a heavy derby loss against Everton, and thus now has a tough position in the top battle in the Premier League.

After the match, Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher criticizes forward Darwin Nunez, who burned a huge chance at the end of the first half.

– The goal chance that Nunez missed before half time… It’s unforgivable at this level. It’s not acceptable at this level, especially when Liverpool are going for the title, says the former centre-back according to the English newspaper Daily Mirror.

Carragher believes Nunez’s development has stalled during the season.

– We have all been in squads, where someone comes in and you talk about the first year and maybe say that he will start and get better. At the beginning of the season it looked like that, but it has stopped, he says.

Carragher even thinks that Liverpool should think about Nunez’s future at the club, even though the forward joined for over one billion kroner from Benfica and is on a long contract.

– He can cause problems and be erratic with his finishes, but I don’t think that’s enough to win the biggest titles. I think there is a big decision that needs to be made around him this summer.

Nunez has a total of 33 goals and 17 assists in 92 games for Liverpool.
