FC Copenhagen veteran Peter Ankersen, 33, returned to the Danish giants from Genoa in 2020, but will leave at the end of his contract this summer.

Ankersen is currently focused on the last matches with FCK, but is also open to moving abroad after the season.

– We are looking broadly and we are looking abroad right now. I haven’t sat down and really thought things through. I see what comes up, and take it from there, says Ankersen according to bold.dk.

– In any case, abroad is high on the list and we are looking at whether there might be someone who needs an experienced gentleman, he continues and points out that he is not necessarily keen on an exotic move to Asia or the USA.

At present, Ankersen does not have any concrete offers, but possibly requests to take a position on in the future.

– Possibly, he says and laughs.

Over the years, Ankersen has played 279 games with FCK, 71 games with Esbjerg, 33 games with Red Bull Salzburg, 28 games with Vejle, 19 games with Genoa and 18 appearances with Rosenborg.

Peter’s twin brother Jakob has a background playing in IFK Göteborg.
