Tre Kronor gets additional NHL reinforcements for the Ice Hockey World Cup in the Czech Republic.

Now five more players will join from playing in the Minnesota Wild.

– The process continues and continues until we have registered 25 players, says national team manager Anders Lundberg to Sportbladet.

Several players are already ready for WC games with Tre Kronor.

Among others, Rasmus Dahlin, Marcus Pettersson, Erik Karlsson, André Burakovsky and Victor Olofsson have already been presented.

Now comes the next good news, or five more, for Sam Hallam.

Several players from the Minnesota Wild have accepted World Cup games in the Czech Republic.

– We did a solid evaluation of the work last year, it was the squad building in general, not just with NHL players. It’s about all the work to build the team to perform at the WC. We are in phase and have received good responses to the evaluation we did, says national team manager Anders Lundberg.

Fullback Jonas Brodin is playing in Tre Kronor for the first time since the 2017 WC, just like forward Joel Eriksson-Ek. At the same time, center Marcus Johansson is in the national team for the first time since the 2014 Olympics.

Tre Kronor’s answer about more WC reinforcements

Goalkeeper duo Filip Gustavsson and Jesper Wallstedt have agreed to that.

– Tre Kronor is attractive to play in, I feel that all the time, even last year. Then there are many parameters that must come into play in order to be able to play the WC. Part of our evaluation is clarity, more sincerity, our presence and a lot of small things that we did a little differently this year. What is what matters less. It’s great fun that we were able to present these names.

A few more players have, according to various reports, been said to be close to playing in the tournament, including another goalkeeper: Samuel Ersson.

But Anders Lundberg confirms no more than that the work continues.

– We can register 25 players for the WC. The process continues and continues until we have registered 25 players, then it is finished. If it is immediately when the WC starts or if we wait, it is impossible to say. Where it lands, the future will tell.

The tournament starts on May 10 and Tre Kronor has this week played a training game against Finland before the Czech hockey games.
