190 young people have competed in 32 different professions and the event broke audience records with more than 28,000 visitors.
The Vocational Championship is arranged every two years and started back in 2004. The purpose is to showcase the career paths that exist and to increase the status, interest and attractiveness of vocational training.
– The Professional Championship is a big event that means a lot in many different ways. The event helps to tell about vocational training and career paths. That’s why it’s so amazing that this year it was a record attendance. The demand for skilled workers in industry is very high, says Fredrik Gunnarsson, responsible for skills supply at Industriarbetsgivarna.
– All the industry’s young people who competed at the Professional Championship are winners. There are plenty of jobs in the industry. They are good role models for more people to hopefully want to work in the industry. But also big congratulations to the medalists!, concludes Fredrik Gunnarsson.
