Team presentation: Ystads IF HF P14

Congratulations, you are ready for USM’s final game! How does it feel?
Thanks! Of course it feels very fun and exciting! All the hard work the team has put in has paid off, and we’re incredibly happy about it.

What were your conditions before the last match in stage 4?
We faced HK Ankaret in the last match. Both teams had won their first two matches. It also only separated one goal in goal difference, in Ankaret’s favor. The conditions were simple, we had to win to progress. The anchor was the organizer, and our audience had just under an hour to get there, so the pressure in the hall was good. It was an even match until about 5 minutes left, when we made a small push that we held until the end. Even though we went undefeated through all the stages, in the end it was a decisive match that stood between us and the Finals. Undeniably, it gets extra nervous for the guys, but we managed it in the end and were able to celebrate our promotion.

Have you been to the final game before? If so, what experiences and lessons have you taken with you?
No, it’s the first time we play USM.

What are your expectations for the upcoming final game?
We look forward to a nice weekend with many good matches. Several of the teams we have come across before, but there are also teams that we don’t have a good grasp of. It will be fun to see how we measure up against Sweden’s best team at this age.

If you look back and reflect on last season’s USM games, what are the lasting impressions?
We have had many players start in USM, which has been both a challenge, but also a lot of fun. USM is an experience that we want to give to as many people as possible. Several of the teams we have encountered have been new acquaintances, which has been extra fun. We have a great group of guys who give us leaders a lot of energy.

When the audience in Uppsala line up to watch you, what can they expect to see?
They will see a varied game, both fast and physical, with good qualities in all positions.

Tell us a little more about your team.
Ystads IF HF P14 consists of guys born in 2009. Most of them have played together since we started playing ball and games, but we have received several new players over the years, which indicates that we are a team and an association that attracts. We train three times a week with a focus on both physics and endurance, but also on a stable defensive game.
