Vimmerby took the step up in the Hockeyallsvenskan after final drama in the qualifying series. Now it is clear that coach Hampus Sylvegård chooses to change clubs for a league competitor.
Hampus Sylvegård has had a rocket career as a hockey coach. This year he was involved, against all odds, and brought Vimmerby up to the Hockeyallsvenskan. But he won’t stay until next season.
The 27-year-old will step in and take a role as assistant coach to Tommy Samuelsson in Nybro Vikings.
The contract is written for three years.
– I am looking forward to coming to Nybro and continuing on the journey that the association is on. I have heard a lot of good things about Nybro and their culture and interest in ice hockey. I want to be a part of it going forward, says Hampus Sylvegård to the club’s website.
