With eight wins and one loss in the preliminary round, Sweden secured the semi-finals in the mixed doubles WC in curling.

Siblings Isabella and Rasmus Wranås’ success in Östersund continued there.

With the 6–3 victory against Switzerland, the duo is ready for the final against Estonia.

Wranås got off to a good start but were still 1–2 behind after three rounds. With the two-pointer in the fourth, the siblings got a grip on the game and when they stole a one in the seventh – when Switzerland had the last stone – the victory was secured.

– That was one of the key points. We got a “theft”, says Isabella Wranå in SVT’s broadcast.

Rasmus Wranå, who earlier in April won WC gold in Switzerland with team Niklas Edin:

– We had some good situations in the first half but didn’t get the points we thought we would get. But we played a bit better than them throughout the match.

The victory means that Sweden has already secured a medal – which was the duo’s goal after fifth place two years ago.

Which denomination the championship ends with will be decided on Saturday.

Then Estonia awaits in the final, which won 8–6 against Norway.

The WC final in Östersund will be decided at 2 p.m.
