The Toronto Maple Leafs are down 1-2 in games against the Boston Bruins in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Maybe it would have looked different for “Lönnlöven” if their Swedish star forward William Nylander had participated.

The 27-year-old, who scored 98 points in the regular season, has missed the first three games.

The reason is still unclear.

– It’s personal so I won’t say anything about it, but I can talk about everything else, says Nylander according to TSN reporter Mark Masters on X.

“Can’t force myself”

The Swede has not enjoyed following the match series from home.

– The matches are crazy to watch from home. I’ve never been so nervous in my life, but I think the guys are doing a great job and it’s a big game tomorrow.

Nylander practiced with the team on Friday, but if he will play the next game, he does not want to reveal.

– I don’t know, we’ll see.

– It is as it is. It’s nothing to stress about. I can’t force myself back on the ice so I’ll be back when I’m ready, says Nylander.

Match 4 between Toronto and Boston will be played on the night of Sunday at 02:00, Swedish time,
