Toronto superstar William Nylander, who missed the first three playoff games, participated in Friday’s practice ahead of the fourth Round of 16 against Boston.

– I’ve skated basically four or five days, I’m feeling pretty good, said the NHL Swede afterwards.

The 27-year-old striker, who missed the first three play-off games, has been struggling with what has been described as an as yet undisclosed injury. Neither he nor coach Sheldon Keefe wanted to comment on the absence in detail.

– It’s personal, I won’t go into it, Nylander told reporters after Friday’s practice.

The coach thought Nylander looked good on the ice during practice.

– As for his status, we have to decide that tomorrow, Keefe said afterwards.

Important player

Toronto is trailing Boston 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. And Nylander in the lineup would mean an important addition, according to Keefe.

“But getting him fully recovered and making sure he’s ready to step into a series of this caliber at this time of year will be the next step.

During the regular season, William Nylander played all 82 games and scored 98 points, including 40 goals. He was the leading scorer among the NHL Swedes and the points yield is his best so far in a single season in the NHL career.

– It’s crazy to watch the games from home, Nylander said after Friday’s training.

– I have never been so nervous in my entire life, but I think the boys are doing a good job.

“Will see”

The fourth meeting on the night of Sunday Swedish time will be important, he states. If it becomes a game for yourself?

– We’ll see, said Nylander.

When asked what will be the biggest challenge entering the playoffs after the absence, he replied:

– Nothing.
