G2 banned from Valorant after Andrew Tate video

--

“I party with whoever the hell I want.”

They could become the famous words that brought down one of the world’s largest eSports organizations. G2 Esports CEO Carlos Rodriguez himself posted a video on social media where he was seen partying with controversial influencer Andrew Tate.

The former kickboxer is accused of being sexist and believes, among other things, that women are partly to blame when they are raped.

After the video, the team announced that Rodriguez agreed to take a two-month hiatus without pay. This after a big storm of criticism where many big profiles in e-sports turned against him. Even several of his own players criticized him.

Riot Games completely turned around

Now comes the next blow for G2 Esports. According to Dot Esports, the team is banned from the new Valorant super leagues in both North and South America as well as Europe.

Next year, the big game will move to a franchise model with closed leagues, similar to League of Legends. G2 had applied for places, but after the scandal, the game developer Riot Games has chosen to give them a no, according to the information.

G2 should have initially received a place in North America, but Riot then completely reversed after a crisis meeting regarding the party video, the site writes.
