Aleksandr Karakin hung up his boots in 2018. Before that, he belonged to big Russian clubs such as Dynamo Moscow and Spartak Moscow.
Now the Russian has lost his life, reports Sport-Express.
According to the site, he was participating in illegal street racing and drove straight into a fence. The car, a Nissan GT, was crushed and Karakin was taken to hospital where he later died.
The illegal street race took place near Lesnoy Gorodok, a popular place for that type of activity, writes Sport-Express. Locals constantly complain to the authorities about the competitions.
