Billie Eilish is in full swing preparing for the release of her upcoming third album HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, which will be released on May 17th without any singles at all. The upload may be seen as unconventional as artists usually share new music to some extent in advance of a project, but with any luck, fans will get a virtual preview of parts of the album.
Billie will step in as a headliner in the game Fortnite on their “Fortnite Festival”, a digital concert experience previously hosted by superstars such as Kendrick Lamar & The Weeknd. Billie will be introduced as one playable character and can thus be bought as a “skin” in the game’s internal store. She will also be at the center of a concert experience, the exact time is unclear but the festival is already starting today, April 23rd.
At X, Billie shared a full image of herself as a character in the game, complete with a neon green version of her own merch and a mic in hand.
Fortnite has just completed another collaboration with Coachella and Billie Eilish is also following in the footsteps of several major artists who have visited the platform in the past year. Most recently they were visited by Lady Gaga, but previously we have also seen performances from Eminem, as well as premieres of music videos from The Weeknd, Playboi Carti & Madonna.
