New speaker and new smart screen

Code in latest Google Home app reveals unannounced products yet.

Google’s Google I/O 2024 event kicks off on May 14, and in the run-up to it, several new leaks and traces of products that are likely to be announced are emerging.

In the latest version of the Google Home app, two new products have been discovered in the form of a new Nest Audio speaker, and surprisingly, a new Nest Hub Max. The last time a Nest Hub Max was released was in 2019 and many thought it was a closed chapter with the launch of the Pixel Tablet. Since the new device is partly parallel to the old device in the program code, and that, like other Nest Hubs, it does not use Android, everything points to the fact that it is a completely new device.

In the same way, the new Nest Audio is parallel in the program code with the predecessor released in 2020.

What specifications the new devices will offer, however, is not known.

There have also been traces of a new Chromecast with Google TV including a new remote control. Here too, there are no concrete specifications, but there is speculation about a stronger processor, more working memory and storage space, and support for new codecs.
