Social network on the rise

Threads, an app from Instagram

New report shows that the network grew by 20 million users in one month.

After a stormy launch, things began to slow down for Meta’s social network and X/Twitter competitor Threads. However, the network has continued to grow, and according to a report delivered by Mark Zuckerberg, Threads grew from 130 million active users in February to 150 million active users in March. Threads launched in July 2023, and within the EU in December 2023.

They have also worked on a number of technical news for the network and, among other things, continued their work on integrating Threads into the decentralized protocol called ActivityPub, which is used by, among other things, the social network Mastodon. In the US, they have also begun to allow users to connect their Threads accounts to Fediverse, which means that posts can also be published on other servers.
