No more money back speedruns.

Steam’s refund policy is a gift from above that allows you to test games and then return them if you want, as long as you have played for a maximum of two hours and ask for your money back within 14 days of purchase.

However, these rules have not applied to offers where you can start playing a few days earlier than the mob, or “advanced access”, for example by pre-booking or buying a more expensive edition. This has led to people being able to play countless hours under advanced access, and then return the games and get their money back.

Steam has now closed this loophole by simply announcing that what you play in advanced access will count towards the two hours you have to test the game. However, the 14 days are still counted from when the game is released, and beta tests can be participated in without restrictions.
