The woman who died after the fire in an apartment in Malmö on New Year’s Day is the previously profiled SVT employee Kajsa Thoor. She was 51 years old.
In the mid-90s, Kajsa Thoor was host of the comedy program “Finally Monday” together with Peter Settman and Fredde Granberg. The program, which was broadcast live with an audience and contained various sketches, was then moved to Thursdays and then changed its name to “Gäntligen måndag”.

Furthermore, Kajsa Thoor has been the presenter for the travel documentary series “Thoor’s eye”. The series was also broadcast in Norway. She has also hosted the children’s program “Kaskelot”.
In 1998, Kajsa Thoor competed in “På spåret” together with the comedian Adde Malmberg.
The fire is being investigated by the police as arson and the investigation will formally continue for a few more weeks. But on Tuesday, police technicians visited the scene and group leader Håkan Larsson believes that it does not appear to be a crime.
– We have been there and done a crime scene investigation. I am waiting for a final protocol, but what we see so far is that there is nothing to indicate a crime, he says.
The fire received a lot of attention this weekend after police initially said a woman had died, but later retracted the information and apologized for the mistake.
During Monday, Kajsa Thoor died in the hospital.
“Very proud of the time at SVT”
Her brother, Dennis Thoor, says that he talked on the phone with his family members all night and that they are mourning Kajsa Thoor. He describes her time at SVT with pride.
– She was very proud of the time she worked at SVT. She did other things as well, but this was like the start of her journalism, so to speak, so she talked a lot about this time on SVT.
SVT left a short comment on Tuesday:
– It is extremely tragic to hear, but we have no further comment because she worked here for a short time a long time ago, says Sindre Lind-Åkerblom at SVT’s press service.
