On April 19, 33-year-old Solomon Galligan entered an elementary school in Aurora, USA. Inside the school grounds, Galligan approached a group of students who were at recess and tried to grab a boy.
When he stumbled and lost his grip, the children ran away shouting that there was a “dangerous stranger” on the school grounds.
Galligan left the scene but was later arrested. He will be tried for attempted kidnapping.
“This has changed his life forever”
The students’ parents are upset about the actions of the school staff during the incident. Miranda Ayala is the mother of the boy Galligan tried to grab. She says her son didn’t sleep for three days after what happened.
– This has changed his life forever, and mine too. He was touched by someone who walked into a field at school during recess while there were other adults there who should have been taking care of my son, Miranda Ayala told CBS News.
She is grateful to the students who started shouting that there was a “dangerous stranger” on the school grounds.
– It was those children who saved my son’s life, says Miranda Ayala.
Has previously been convicted of sex crimes
Galligan, a transgender man with a previous conviction for sex crimes, reportedly smelled of alcohol and had white powder on his face, according to the boy he tried to grab.
The police’s mug shot on Galligan made several people on social media think of the TV series “The Walking Dead” where the earth is flooded with zombies, writes the New York Post.
“The zombie apocalypse is here”one person writes.
Another writes that he “thought it was an actor from ‘The Walking Dead'”.
