During the night of Wednesday, a fire was discovered by patrolling police in Vallentuna.
– On site it could be established that it was an outbuilding next to a villa that was on fire. The emergency services handled the fire and the police have started a preliminary investigation into arson, says Robert Sennerdal of the police in Stockholm, to Mitt i.
After trying to put it out on their own, the emergency services were called.
– It was so powerful that the patrol couldn’t put it out themselves, says regional command officer at the Stockholm police to Aftonbladet.
No one was injured in the fire.
A suspect was later arrested in the same area in connection with a car fire a few hours later, police said. The case is classified as arson and one person is detained.
– There are suspicions that the fires are connected, says Robert Sennerdal.
