Google’s top executive Sundar Pichai is in Stockholm. Among other things, he has met the prime minister Ulf Kristersson and will take a detour past the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH.

But that is not all that is on the agenda for the tech top.

At the same time, a fund, the Google.org Social Innovation Fund on AI, of the equivalent of 115 million kroner is being launched to promote AI research, TT reports.

The money is earmarked for Swedish AI projects and is dedicated to non-profit activities within social entrepreneurship.

“We are launching a fund for social innovations with AI to help socially engaged entrepreneurs solve some of Europe’s most pressing challenges”, writes Sundar Pichai in a debate article in the Financial Times magazine published in connection with the launch of the fund.

According to a source at Breakit, Google’s co-founders also landed Sergey Brin with his private jet at Arlanda on Monday.
