China supports the Russian defense industry, according to the US. Beijing denies the allegations.

Now US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is traveling to China to increase pressure on the superpower about the Ukraine war.

China has provided equipment that has been used to rebuild Russia’s defense industrial base, according to the US. It should have helped Russia cope with Western sanctions since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine just over two years ago.

When US Secretary of State Antony Blinken speaks with Chinese representatives in the next few days, he is expected to pressure the country to use its influence to end the war. But China has made it clear that it does not accept “criticism or pressure” regarding its relationship with Russia. China, which has not condemned the Russian invasion, dismisses the US claims as “groundless accusations” and asserts its right to “normal trade relations” with all countries.

– In the Ukraine issue, China has always maintained an objective and fair position, actively advocated peace talks and pushed for a political solution, said Wang Wenbin at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs before the visit.

Blinken is also expected to address questions about the Middle East, Taiwan and human rights during its three days of meetings in Beijing and Shanghai.
