The state bank lowers the three-month interest rate by 0.10 percentage points. It has gradually decreased from a peak of 5.22 percent at the end of 2023. The reduction means a new list rate of 4.92 percent.

Also for mortgages with a commitment period of one year, there is a reduction of 0.05 percentage points to a new list rate of 4.72 percent. It was up to 5.37 percent until November last year.

– This is the third or fourth time we have lowered the three-month interest rate, says Lars Lindmark, product manager at SBAB.

If there will be more jadjustments before the Riksbank’s interest rate announcement in May cannot be answered, according to Lindmark. However, the hope is that there will be further declines.

– If the Riksbank has the opportunity to gradually adjust interest rates down, we will of course follow them down. We will follow market rates, although of course there may be setbacks.

SBAB raises at the same time the interest rates for loans with longer commitment periods.

– As far as the longer interest rates are concerned, they have gone in the opposite direction during the year and this is not least driven by the fact that the American economy is showing stronger resilience than the interest rate market expected, says Lars Lindmark.
