Operating profit increased.

“Scania’s sales were strong and we are delivering our best operating profit ever during a quarter. This success is due to high production volumes with deliveries increasing by 17 percent compared to last year. In addition, the rollout of our fuel-efficient Scania Super has increased our market shares”, comments the CEO Christian Levin.

Turnover rose 20.2 percent to SEK 55,051 million (45,812).

Operating profit was SEK 7,582 million (6,201), with an operating margin of 13.8 percent (13.5).

Adjusted operating profit was SEK 7,985 million (6,185), with an adjusted operating margin of 14.5 percent (13.5).

The profit after tax was SEK 6,107 million (3,700), an increase of 65.1 percent compared to the previous year. Profit for the remaining operations amounted to 6,107 (4,404).

Order intake landed at SEK 20,171 million (18,918), an increase of 6.6 percent compared to the previous year. Deliveries rose 17 percent to 26,496 vehicles (22,626).

CEO Christian Levin describes the start of the year as exceptionally strong.

Scania has worked purposefully to deliver vehicles and services with improved delivery precision to our customers. The financial results for the first quarter show increasing delivery volume, strong sales, record high earnings and growing market shares as the rollout of Scania Super continues,” he writes.
