Every year, Region Gotland appoints one or more young cultural creators who have development potential and maintain high quality in their artistry, and who contribute to the diversity of cultural expressions on the island.

This year, the cultural work grant is awarded to a fantasy/sci-fi writer, a performance artist/composer/pianist and a sound and music designer. They are:

Sarah Ahlin Schwanbom, born 2001. Sarah wants to focus on writing short stories and designing a magazine in the fantasy/sci-fi genre. The plan is at least two volumes of the magazine and the hope is that it can be a starting point for larger projects in the future.

Polina Pohozha, born 1997. Polina is a Ukrainian performance artist, composer and pianist who has lived and studied on Gotland in recent years. She strives for her own unique way of letting the music speak to the audience and herself – sometimes as a roar and sometimes as a whisper.

Samuel Wizen, born 1996. Samuel wants to develop his business in music and music production. He has returned home to Gotland after completing university education in sound and music design at Dalarna University. Today he works as a freelance assistant at Sandkvie Studio in Visby and now he wants to take the next step and build up his own customer base.
