State aid to companies (economic activity).
Tillväxtverket has categorized business-oriented projects in the Regional Fund through a number of different boxes. The intention is to make it easier for those of you who are looking to see different options and to prepare the project applications in accordance with the regulations. The different boxes reflect the possible support actions that apply to this call. Tillväxtverket’s case manager makes a final assessment of which state aid rules are current for your application.
It is important that you as an applicant and your project partners know whether you are defined as a company or not. According to the EU’s state aid legislation, a company is an entity that, regardless of its legal form, carries out economic activities with or without profit. Economic activity refers to all activities that offer goods/services on a market.
If you or a project partner is a company, it affects how your project setup can be. It is therefore important that you read up on the state aid regulations. Your project’s operations affect which state aid rules will be applied.

In your project, will you be working to provide direct support to companies, for example: coaching, business advice, development of new goods or services or improvements to existing ones, then read more about box 2.
