On Tuesday evening, the Liberals, the Christian Democrats and the Sweden Democrats in Ronneby went out and demanded Roger Fredriksson’s resignation. The parties are included, together with the Moderates, in the majority alliance “Samling för Ronneby”.
But removing a municipal councilor requires special circumstances, explains municipal lawyer Markus Grill.
– Mistakes, financial crime, failure to carry out one’s mission correctly, but that is a very high threshold, says Markus Grill.
Other options are if you are sentenced to prison for two years, or if new elections are called.
In Ronneby’s case, there is only one alternative if the board is to stay together and a new moderate municipal board chairman is to succeed Fredriksson.
– That he himself chooses to resign, says Markus Grill.
Another way out is if a completely new majority is formed in the council where parties that are not currently part of the board are also included.
However, there is currently no proposal for such an alternative.
