It was in 1689 that the frigate Stralsund was built and in 1713 it sank, according to Blekinge museum. The theory is that the shipwreck should be somewhere in Karlskrona’s city marina.
The museum has therefore been tasked by the County Administrative Board in Blekinge to search for it in the area, which means that, among other things, they will dive at the site.
– We are diving today, Thursday, and tomorrow too, Friday, says project leader and marine archaeologist Mikael Björk, at Blekinge museum.
The marine archaeologist: “A collaborative project”
Taking part in the searches are people from Blekinge museum, Bohusläns museum and Nordic maritime group.
– It is a collaborative project, Mikael Björk.
