In last year’s U18 WC, Sweden got off to a good start when they defeated Canada 8-0.

This year it was a tougher start for the Small Crowns as Canada got revenge and won 6–3.

One of the directors of the victory was the great talent McKenna, who was responsible for two goals in the match.

– This is something you dream about when you grow up. I have had the honor of wearing the Canadian jersey before and to do it again is surreal, he says after the victory.

The newly arrived 16-year-old is already the favorite to go first in the 2026 draft.

Sweden’s three goals were delivered by Örebro players Alexander Zetterberg (two) and Melvin Fernstrom (one).

Sweden plays the next match tomorrow, Saturday, against Kazakhstan. SVT broadcasts from 2 p.m.
