Justification

In her thesis, Erika Sturk has brought to life teaching of writing in primary school in different subjects and at different levels, how teachers think about their teaching of writing and how they implement it in practice. The teachers start from the knowledge requirements in the curriculum but are also influenced by discussions with colleagues in various networks. Erika’s continued research focus is to develop a writing didactics for prospective teachers that gives students the opportunity to participate actively in a democratic society.

About Erika Sturk

Erika Sturk researches and teaches in the field of language didactics and is particularly interested in issues related to writing and democracy. Erika is one of two research leaders for the research network Litum and is the scientific leader of SKRIVUM, which is an educational strategic investment with training for university teachers with the overall goal of strengthening all students’ competence in academic writing and writing for professional life. Together with researchers in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, Erika has started a writing didactic network that is financed with funds from the Riksbank’s Anniversary Fund.
