The days go by fast, soon it will be student times again. Figures from Swedish trade show that 1.9 billion was spent last year on the student celebration. Everything has become so much more expensive and a lot is due to students and schools trying to outdo each other.

The individual student faces a very tough financial period. Student vans must be rented, student caps ordered, dresses or suits bought. It is trips before the student that are expensive and in most cases also full from start to finish. You can usually keep the cost down at the student party at home, but there is a lot around that that “just has to happen”.

Many students also feel compelled to attend prom. That cost is extremely high, so many students do not participate, which is incredibly sad.

The school management at Tumba high school has decided to donate a student cap to each graduating student. In this way, all students get a student cap without the large cost. Imagine if Linköping’s various high schools followed that track.
