On July 31, 2024, Sweden’s largest music festival RIX FM Festival comes to Karlskrona and offers a colorful summer party on Stortorget with free entrance. This year, RIX FM also turns 25 and fills the stage with some of Sweden’s most sought-after artists.
Since its inception in 2000, the RIX FM Festival has grown to become one of Europe’s most prominent radio events with over a quarter of a million visitors last year.
– No one thought that the tour would be such a success when we started in 2000, but after 25 fantastic years, we are now one of Europe’s biggest radio events. The idea is simple. Together with our partners, artists and record companies, we offer RIX FM’s listeners a unique music experience with free entry, as a thank you for listening, says Anders Sjöland, marketing director at Viaplay Group Radio.
– It feels fun and exciting to welcome RIX FM Festival to Karlskrona. It is a new part of the Karlskrona Archipelago Festival, which will attract both Karlskrona residents and visiting visitors, says Pär Israelsson, Karlskrona municipality’s director of tourism.
It will be a fantastic evening of music and together with all the other events this summer, Karlskrona profiles itself as an attractive event city, where there is always a lot going on, Pär continues.
The festival will be filled with a line-up of amazing artists and offer something for all music lovers. More specific information about which artists will perform, we will have to wait a little longer.
– This year, the first evening on Stortorget’s big stage rises to unimagined heights, says Johanna Mazetti, project manager for the Archipelago Festival. The Archipelago Festival runs from July 30 to August 4 and has a traditional opening with free entry on Stortorget on Wednesday. The party continues both in town and out in the archipelago. Most of the events during the Archipelago Festival are free, but you need a festival pass to experience the admission-charged concerts on Stortorget, Thursday to Saturday.
