Two men are sentenced to prison after a dramatic car chase in Östersund where shots were fired with automatic weapons in the direction of following police cars.
The Östersund district court sentences a 19-year-old man to six years in prison for aggravated threats against an official, aggravated blue light sabotage, aggravated weapons offenses and unlawful threats.
A 24-year-old receives four years in prison for aiding and abetting a serious threat to an official, serious sabotage against blue light operations, serious weapons offenses and unlawful threats.
The men were charged with attempted murder of four policemen, but according to the district court, it is beyond reasonable doubt that the 19-year-old, who was holding the weapon, aimed the shots at the police cars and thereby had the intent to kill.
The man has admitted that he fired the shots, but denies any crime and claims that he shot into the air.
Prosecutor Emil Tiberg had asked for twelve and 14 years in prison respectively for four cases of attempted murder.
