– For the second time this week, we at the County Board had the opportunity to highlight for a close neighboring country West Sweden’s central role in both security and business issues, says county governor Sten Tolgfors.

The County Administrative Board, as the extension of the government in the county, has a special responsibility when Sweden receives official international visits. The lunch meeting at the residence is part of that mission.

Sweden has a long tradition of active foreign policy, with extensive and close bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Maintaining good international relations is a cornerstone of that work.

– In that work, it is important to also profile Western Sweden and tell about everything that is going on here and what significance the region has both nationally and internationally, says Governor Sten Tolgfors.

During the lunch meeting at the residence, the Västra Götaland region and the City of Gothenburg were also represented.

Prime Minister Evika Siliņa began her visit to Sweden in Stockholm, where she held discussions with the Swedish government and met Latvian citizens living in Sweden. Friday in Gothenburg was devoted in particular to economic cooperation between the countries.
