A couple of weeks ago, we reported how in the latest beta versions of Windows 11 version 24H2, Microsoft has started to block first Startallback and later also Explorer Patcher, two programs that change the behavior of the Start menu and can restore the Windows 10 version of both Start- menu and Taskbar.

The Start11 program, unlike the above-mentioned programs, was never blocked, and it has a completely logical explanation – even if the result annoys some. Namely, it turns out that Microsoft has simply removed the old Start menu code and therefore restoring the old look and behavior won’t work, reports Neowin.

The fact that Start11 works and will continue to work depends on the fact that the developers have written all the code themselves and do not use any tricks to activate the old code.

Explorer Patch has just released a new update that completely removes the ability to use Windows 10’s Taskbar and Start Menu. This means that many of the program’s functions no longer work, but at the same time that what remains should work in Windows 11 24H2.
