The Brazilian soccer icon Marta is doing her last year in the national team, she says in an interview with Brazilian CNN.

In the same interview, Marta gives further information: she wants to play the Olympics in France this summer.

– If I get to play in the Olympics, I will enjoy every moment, because regardless of whether I go to the Olympics or not, it is my last year with the national team. There will no longer be a Marta in the national team, as a player, from 2025 onwards, she says on CNN.

The 38-year-old has made it to the final in the Olympics, on two occasions.

Marta has been named the world’s best soccer player on six occasions. She has spent large parts of her career in Sweden and won seven SM golds; four in Umeå, one in Tyresö and two in Rosengård.

Since 2017, she has been playing in Orlando in the American league.
