Arne Slot becomes Liverpool’s new coach

Liverpool seem to have found Jürgen Klopp’s replacement.

It is Dutchman Arne Slot, 45, who looks set to take over the club.

According to agreed information, the parties are in agreement.

Jürgen Klopp announced in January that he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. The German, who has coached the English club since 2015 and won both the Champions League and the Premier League, is now leaving the coaching job.

His replacement will be, according to agreed information in England, Arne Slot. A 45-year-old Dutch coach who will join from second-placed Feyenoord in the Eredivisie.

According to information from, among others, The Athletic and Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool and Feyenoord have agreed on a transfer package that will see the 45-year-old move from the Netherlands to England.

A transition package worth 100-150 million according to the information.

Slot told ESPN on Thursday that he wanted to take over from Klopp and that he was confident that the clubs would work it out. Klopp himself was asked about the new coach name at today’s press conference.

– If he is the solution from the club, I am very happy. It’s not up to me to judge but everything sounds really good to me, said the German coach.

Arne Slot has also coached AZ Alkmaar and won the Dutch league in 2022/23 with Feyenoord.
