There was panic and people just screamed
The police received several calls about a loud bang in Huvudsta at 10:46 p.m. on Thursday evening, September 22.
– I had time to think that apartments above collapsed. It sounded like an earthquake, say David and Nyberg, who live three houses away from the place where the detonation occurred.
– People went out onto balconies and windows and checked. Many neighbors stood in the courtyard and people shouted “what’s going on, what’s going on”, says Jessica.
“The explosion has caused extensive damage to the stairwell and several windows have been destroyed both in this apartment building and in an adjacent house,” the police write on their website.
Race risk – the bomb shelter in place
During the evening, the emergency services decided to evacuate the house, as they feared structural damage to the property. According to SVT, 28 people were forced to leave their homes.
There are no reports of anyone being injured. The national bomb shelter was in place during the night and the property was cordoned off during the Friday morning.
The cordons were later extended and during the Friday morning more police came to the scene with helmets and protective equipment.
The police have changed the crime classification to aggravated public dangerous destruction,
At the moment, there are no suspects in the crime and the police have not arrested anyone.
