“Rebecka” challenged the gang leader – stopped the 13-year-old son’s murder mission

“Rebecka” gradually noticed that her son’s behavior changed. From taking care of school and being social, he felt increasingly worse and began to isolate himself. When she found an extra phone in his room and saw how he came home with designer clothes, she begins to suspect trouble, she tells Uppdrag grunskan reporter Karwan Faraj.

One late night last year, everything changed. Outside the residence, she saw her son together with a gang criminal man. She saw the fear in her son’s eyes and lost control.

– We start fighting out there in the street. He gets me down on the ground and strangles me, she says.

The son’s mission: Shoot someone in the head

That evening “Rebecka” understood that the 13-year-old son had received a murder contract which meant that he would shoot a person in the head.

– He didn’t want to hurt anyone, and now says in retrospect that he tried to get out so many times but it didn’t work. And as a 13-year-old, what are your responsibilities then, apart from saying no, stop, I don’t want to?

“Rebecka”, who herself grew up in a criminal environment, left everything behind to be able to focus on becoming a good parent.

– You blame yourself. Before he ended up in gang crime, I flagged for Social Services, she says.

Now afterwards, nothing is the same. The son never carried out the gang’s murder mission, but he and “Rebecka” today live separately at protected addresses.

– His life is basically ruined, says “Rebecka”.
