Sir Jim Ratcliffe has taken over as the new co-owner of Manchester United with responsibility for the sporting activities of the club. Since then, there have been several reports that he wants to implement several changes, such as reducing the staff and cutting back on expenses, which are considered unnecessary, at the club.

Now the English newspaper The Times states that Ratcliffe has decided to withdraw from staff benefits in connection with the upcoming final against Manchester City on May 25 at Wembley in the FA Cup. According to the newspaper, all roughly 1,100 employees have previously received a ticket each, while senior staff have received extra family tickets to the FA Cup finals in London. They have also received transport, food and accommodation, whereas now they only receive a ticket each and have to pay for everything else themselves.

According to the newspaper, some staff are thus dissatisfied with the change, even though the new management’s message is that the goal is to invest sportingly to take the club back to the top of world football.

Recently, The Times also reported that Ratcliffe has decided to move into private cars with drivers for some people in the A-team staff. This also as part of the new co-owner’s cost-saving program.

Earlier, the English newspaper The Telegraph also wrote that Ratcliffe wants to streamline United’s operations, and that around 250 jobs may be cut, among other things to have clearer communication channels internally to speed up decision-making processes
