It’s the NFL draft this week and at the same time the election campaigns are in full swing for the fall presidential election in the United States.
Then Joe Biden chooses to once again use American football to attract voters. In a new commercial that premiered Thursday, he mocks Trump’s negative attitude toward the sport.
– American football is boring as hell, Trump is heard saying during a speech in the video.
– Nobody cares about American football because of that.
The campaign video ends with Biden himself standing holding a football and with the text: “Make the right choice in November”.
Mocked after the miss: “The only problem”
But Biden’s message is now being mocked because of a detail in the video. Attentive viewers have noticed that Biden is not at all holding a ball used in the NFL, the American football league. Instead, he holds the Australian variant – a so-called Sherrin – which is used in the sport with completely different playing rules than the American one.

It is not the first time that Biden has made headlines in the context of the NFL. After the Super Bowl earlier this year, he came under fire after joking about the conspiracy theories surrounding the game that ended with the Kansas City Chiefs winning.
