The game title 7 Days to Die has been out in early access for twelve years, which is much longer than most games. Now, however, the developer has confirmed that the game will soon reach version 1.0 and is leaving early access for good.

Many games that are first launched in early access, where players get access to the title during the actual development stage, are usually launched in their entirety after about two years. However, this has not been the case for 7 Days to Die, which has been in development for over a decade and leaves early access during the month of June.

The game is a survival simulator with an open world overrun by zombies. Players can survive alone or online where you can play together or against other players. The game world should be up to 100 square kilometers in size and include a variety of vegetation areas players can explore and try to build a home base strong enough to keep its occupants alive after the fall of civilization.

The game has remained relatively popular since its debut in early access. In the month of July 2023, the game reached its record for most simultaneous players with a total of 96,208 players trying to survive the apocalypse. In the last month, the numbers have been slightly lower with 45,727 concurrent players at most. However, these figures will increase significantly when it comes time for version 1.0 to be launched in June.

The game currently has “Very Positive” reviews overall on the Steam platform. Those who have been interested in the title but who have not yet entered the zombie apocalypse can currently purchase the game at a 76 percent lower price than usual. The game currently costs around SEK 60 until April 29.
