Sharp criticism is now being directed at Loreen and the winning song Tattoo.

After a rousing Melodifestivalen final, it was Loreen who won the songbird and the hearts of the Swedish people.

She was tipped to win the Melodifestivalen, and so it happened. For the second time, she will represent Sweden in the Eurovision song contest, but there are people who want to stop her. Now the people are raging.

Loreen’s song saw abroad – harsh accusation

The reason for the anger is that people abroad believe that Loreen’s song Tattoo is a copy of another song. It is the song Flying free by Pont Aeris that the Spanish media now believe that Loreen plagiarized, something that Expressen also noticed.

“The line between plagiarism and homage is very subtle in this song.” Writing them.

It all started when a Twitter user uploaded a mash-up of the two songs, with the cheeky caption:

“Well, I’ll leave this quick mix I made of Loreen’s Tattoo and a popular song called Flying Free and I’ll leave”

The reactions could not be expected.

Defends Loreen after the harsh criticism

Several people agree and write that they thought exactly the same thing when they heard the winning song. Some are even upset, and don’t think it’s okay at all.

“Jesus, the first time I listened to the song, I thought to myself…I’ve heard this before. It’s not new by any means.”

However, several come to Loreen’s defense, and say that it is not plagiarism. Yes, because where the line between plagiarism and inspiration lies is subjective, to say the least.

“No. The instrumental intros of the songs are similar, but the songs should be compared to their melody and they are completely different. “Borrowing” musical background, drum rhythm, chord sequences or specific instrument loops is not twisting a song. Melody and hook are sacred.”

Also, at this point only die-hard Eurovision fans have heard the song. When Loreen takes part in the competition in May for real, you can expect a lot of strong reactions – and people who want to stop her participation.
